' The Adams County Record Wednesday, April 4, 2012 Page B March Real Estate Report by Gene Foster The listings in the Intermountain Multiple Listing service for the Cambridge, Council, New Meadows area are now down to 270. These listings have been on the market an average of 387 days. There were 3 building permits issued in Adams County in March. Sales were down with only 4 properties being sold: two bank owned homes in Council, and one in New Meadows. A small acreage was also sold on Hornet Creek. There are 5 homes on the market under $50,000, and 7 more in the 50 to 100 range. Thirty-year fixed-rate mortgages are hovering at about 4%. There is a "Rule of Thumb" to use in evaluating an investment real estate purchase. If you are buy- ing an investment proper- ty that you intend to rent, the rental received should equal 1% of the purchase price. Irrigation Obituary Rosella Eva Wilson Soderberg Rosella Eva Wilson Soderberg, 84, of Seattle, passed quiet- ly into the arms of her Savior Monday, March 26th, 2012, at Columbia Lutheran Nursing Home following a brief illness. Rosella was born to James and Bessie Wilson near Midvale, Idaho in 1927, and gradu- ated from Council High School in 1946. She worked as a nurse at the Council hospital for one year before mov- ing to Seattle in 1947 to attend Northwest Bible Institute and work as a licensed nurse at the Firland Tuberculosis Sanatorium. After graduating from NBI in 1950, she trav- elled the Northwest as a licensed preacher work- ing in children's minis- tries before returning to Seattle in 1952. She married Wallace Soderberg at Calvary Temple in 1954 and worked in the church's children's department and for many of the church,s missionaries, also as typist, bookkeep- er, and office manager at Seattle's Littlers depart- ment store. She and Wallace adopted two children at birth: Robert in 1961, and Renee in 1962. In 1964 she began a long career with Queens Way to Fashion, rising to the position of regional sales manager. Following the death of her husband in 1988, she continued to work in sales for several compa- nies, sold her handmade clothing, spent time with her many friends, and enjoyed taking care of her. three grandsons. Her health declined following knee replace- ment in 2005, suffering a stroke late that year, and was diagnosed with dementia in early 2006. She had resided at Columbia Lutheran Nursing Home in Seattle since January, 2008. Rosella was a steadfast Christian woman who never rejected her lot in life, never turned away from someone in need, was never idle, never unhappy, and never doubted her salvation. She is preceded in death by sisters Jessie and ]une, brothers Donald and Malven, and husband Wallace. She is survived by sisters Louise Shaw of ]-he Dalles, Peggie Hoyt of Seattle, broth- er Ralph Wilson of Council, daughter Renee Soderberg and son Robert Soderberg both of Seattle, and three grandsons.
