New Meadows School Lunch All meals served with fruit Wednesday, April 18, 2012 The Adams County Record Planning & Zoning Meeting Rescheduled The Adams County rescheduled for April 23, Planning Commission meet-2012 at 7:00 pm in the court- ing that was scheduled room in the Adams County for April 16, 2012 has been Courthouse. Girls Club Council Public Meeting - Levy and four-day week There will be a public meet- ing to discuss and take com- ment on the shop levy and the recommendations from the curriculum committee in regards to the structure of the elementary and the four- day school week on Thursday, April April 19. The shop levy meeting will run from 6:00-7:00, and the meeting to discuss recommendations by the curriculum commit- tee will run from 7:00-8:00. Both meetings will be held in the high school library. Board members and staff will be in attendance to meet with those who have questions. County Weed Spraying: As time and conditions allow during spring, sum- mer and into fall, the county weed crew will be spraying weeds along the county roads, county property and along Highways 95 and 55. Movie Night Movie night will be on Friday, April 20th at Families for Christ in the basement of Tater Tots. Food will be at Yard Sale Items There are a few leftover items from the Friends of the Council Library sale that were just too good to get rid of, so they are still available 6:30 and the movie will start at 7:00 p.m. Call 741-0410 for more information. at the Library at the library. Fish and Chicken Fry Fundraiser The annual Council X-Club Fish and Chicken Fry is being held on Sunday, April 22nd, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the 7 Devils Cafe. Admission is $5.00 for adults Chamber and $3.00 for kids 5 to 12. Proceeds from the Fish Fry goes to our burn out fund that helps people after a fire. Donations of fish, salads and desserts are needed. Banquet It's time to honor the peo- ple in our community who truly make a difference. Come and enjoy a prime rib dinner on April 28 at 6:00 PM in the Council Elementary School multipurpose room. Tickets Girls Club is for girls 8 and up, and will meet weekly at the Council Valley Assembly of God Church (Wednesdays at 6:30 PM). An informal signup meeting will be held on April 18 at 6:30 PM at the Assembly of God Church. Bring your parents and meet the Girls Club leaders. The club is to help young girls develop the physical, mental and spiritual abilities that they need to be better daughters, and successful and productive in life. There will be overnight outings, camp- ing, bowling, swimming and field trips, day trips, and com- munity service projects. New Meadows Candidate Forums County candidate forum will be held at New Meadows High School on Thursday, April 19. A dessert and soft drink social will begin at 6:30 PM, and the forum will start at 7:00 PM. All candidates for contested county offices (sheriff, prosecuting attorney and assessor) have been invit- ed to participate. The public is invited to submit questions for the candidates. All ques- tions must be submitted in writing, and can be submitted at the forum. The next forum, for sher- iff candidates only, will be Thursday, April 26 at Council Elementary School, 7:00 PM. The last forum will be on the evening of Thursday, May 3. Details are to be announced.
