Page 26 Chamber Banquet Continued from frontpage Wednesday, May 2, 2012 The Adams County Record will be going into the health care field- Xhe chamber of Commerce awards Waylon Zielinski and Stephanie Cook were as follows: Non-profit organization of Council,. and Randy Smifla of New of the year--Adams County Health Meadows. Clinic Dental Program; Senior Citizen of the Year--Norah York; Teacher of the Year--Nina Trainor; Business of the Year--The Thrifty Shoppe; Woman of the Year--Sharofi Parker; Man of the Year--Bill Woodington. A silent auction of gift baskets donated by local businesses helped to add to the fun and the fundraising. Luke Riehle sang and played guitar, before and during the meal. Norah York - Senior Citizen of the Year, witti Holly Williams, Council Chamber of Commerce Event Coordinator. Nina Trainor-Teacher of the Year The meal was prepared and served by School Superintendent Murray Dalgleish and the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) students, who did a wonderful )ob. Congratulations to all the award : winners, and thank you for everything you have done for our community! Sharon Parker - Woman of the Year Know a Special Morn? Is there a special mother that you would like to nominate to be the subject of the Community Spotlight in our Mothbr's Day issue (May 9)? If so, let us know as soon as possible so Deb Wilson can interview the special lady in time. Last Week's Pet Photo Winners BY DALE FISK Congratulations to our pet photo winners. We collected a little more information about some of them. In the cutest category, the first place winner was ]udie Lucas' bunch of white puppies in a Gator wagon, One of the pups, Duncan, is now nine months old. Judie and Duncan live at New Meadows. Cindi Hulin had two winners in the contest. Her pig, "Fat-Boy" easily outpaced the 'competition in the "Ugliest" contest. Cindi's 2 nd place win in the "Cutest" category was a winter shot of her Great Carole McCall and Rastus Judie Lucas md Duncan Pyrenese "Heidi" with a homeless cat that cuddled up to her for warmth. Brian and Andi Taylor of Council won 3 "d place in the Cutest category with a photo of their cat, Smokey. Rastus is Carole McCall's fifteen-year-old terrier mix, who won 1 st place for "Best Dressed." In the photo Carole entered, Rastus was wearing his tuxedo because he was the ring bearer in her daughter's wedding. Katie McCall's little dog,- "Lucky" won second in Best Dressed, but she was my choice for cutest. Sandy Coates' Wonder Dog, Scraps won 3 rd in the Best Dressed category. We received 40 entries, and we thank everyone who sent in pictures. We hope you en)oyed the contest.
