The Adams County Record been concerned about the seeming disconnect between our elected officials and the people they represent. I firmly believe in the intent of our founding fathers, ahd seek a return to bipartisan politics so that laws enacted truly represent the desires of the people. Education: Our most important asset is a literate population. This is dependent on quality teachers. We must return them to a position of respect. Economy: Consider all legislation that promotes an increase in jobs with a living wages. Work to repeal the grocery sales tax, which is most hurtful to those with limited income. Ethics: We need full financial disclosure from all public servants in order to answer the questions about why politicians vote as they do. Most of all, we need to expect civility.
