This year's theme is "More than a job. It's a calling." The following declara- tion was signed by Council Mayor, Bruce Gardner at the last City Council Meeting: "Each day, people rely on emergency service systems to help them in their hour of need. Emergency workers, such as dispatchers, police officers, physicians, nurses, the fire service, E.M.S., etc. are partially or fully staffed by volunteers, and they devote countless hours to keeping their communities safe. Whether responding by care, ambulance, hell- copter, boat, this diverse group of dedicated peo- ple provides crucial help and care in ames of need. It's not a 9:00 to 5:00 job. When the call is given, they respond, no matter the time of day or night. They are not only trained to help when needed, but work to prevent an emergency before it happens." "Therefore, as the mayor of the City of Council, Idaho, I proclaim the 20' h to the 26 th of 2012 as Emergency Services Week" On May 23, at 10:45 most of the Council emergency vehicles and EMS personnel will come to the Council Elementary School to give a demonstration.
