The workshop is geared towards seniors, caregivers and families of seniors, but everyone is welcome. I just want to thank all the volunteers who give their time to help out at the center. Your unselfish work does not go unappreciated; each of you are wonderful! If you are interested in being a volunteer please contact me at the center. Untreated Hypertension increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. These are the first and third commonest causes of death in the USA. Hypertension can also damage the kidneys and increase the risk of blindness and dementia. That is why hypertension is referred to as a "silent Killer." This is a big.week in the life of the graduates in our communities. 1 shared with them this morning -- a message from Proverbs 3:5-6 which reads: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) This word of wisdom is applicable to each of us wherever we are in our journey of life. Learning who to trust in life is incredibly important. I have chosen to place my best. The word for trust has the sense of leaning your whole body on something so as to support your weight. For example, we have observed over time that chairs placed in public places are able to support our weight, so we don't always check them for their sturdiness before sitting down in them. We are to lean fully on the Lord with all of our heart--that is our will, feelings, intellect, rather than relying on our own understanding (seeing into a situation) to support US. spend in worship services or in the times when we are in a pickle and need God's help--but in every situation and course of life we are to acknowledge him. This is not a passing acknowledgement like the finger lifting off the steering wheel as you pass an acquaintance. Instead it is fully recognizing God's presence in our lives- letting him take control of the steering wheel. Acknowledging God means being fully aware of and in fellowship with Him. by Les Sheneberger While visiting my friend in Kansas, he pointed out the wagon wheel ruts on the Santa Fe Trail heading west. These" made it easier for settlers to stay on the safest path. God making our paths straight or directing our paths can be thought of as us following in the wagon wheel ruts that have been set before us. All we need to do is place ourselves under God's control and stay in his path.
