Macey Helming: Teacher's Choice Kim Homisberger: Teacher's Choice Brandy Gibleau" Teacher's Choice BY FRAN OGDEN Two weeks ago, 25 Council textiles students' quilts were sent to Salt Lake City for a competition that involves quilts from all over the country and instructors from around the world. Last week 5 students went to Salt Lake to take classes and attend the awards ceremony. After the judging was done, each of the instructors were given one ribbon to put on a quilt of their choice. There were 30 instructors and hundreds of quilts. Seven of the instructors chose to put their ribbons on quilts made by Council students Receiving ribbons for Instructor Choice were Brandy Gibleau, Daniel Cameron, Jamie Berks, Macey Henning, Kim Hornisberger, Suzi Meza, and Case}, DeHaas. Receiving Honorable Mention awards were Nate Henderson and Stephanie Cook. (There were only 2 honorable mention awards, a first a place(S500), a second place ($300) and a third place ($200). Nate Henderson: Honorable Mention Receiving 2nd place in the youth division was Macey Henning who will receive a check for $300. While in Salt Lake, the students took classes for 3 days so they can be even more skilled by next year. Funds for the trip were provided by the Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe and the raffling of a quilt at US Bank. Thank you to the community, the Board of Education and this school administration for the support of the students in their artistic endeavors. Stephanie Cook: Honorable Mention !
