Stupid Award When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street by sucking on a hose, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police Slokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline, but he plugged his siphon hose into the motor home's sewage tank bymistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had and the perp had been.punished enough! I I To All Adams County Forested Land Owners Do you hav e a house and/or other important structures where the brush and small trees are so dense that it would be difficult to defend should a forest fire break out on or near your property? If so, perhaps the Adams County's "Fire Mitigation Crew" can help by creating a "fire buffer zone" around your structures and along the access route into your property. This would be done by cutting the taller brush and thinning some of the smaller trees to increase their spacing and removing the lower branches of the remaining trees to eliminate the "ladder SERVICES ,I fuels". "Ladder fuels" are the limbs that the fire will bum up through to the top of the tree and then spread hot embers floating out ahead of the fire to ignite more fires. The small trees, limbs and brush created by this action would then be chipped into small approximately 2" x 2" chips. This program is funded by the Federal Government and is free to you as an Adams County Property Owner. If you are interested in such a progarn, please contact Don Horton or Pam Murphy at the Adams County Building Department. Phone: 208 253-6125.
