BY DALE FISK Pomp and Circumstance filled the air at the Council High School gym Saturday night. The tune, the full title of which is "Pomp and Circumstance Military March No. 1" was played by school band members as the class of 2012 marched into the gym and onto the stage. Classes have been following the exact same path to that stage, to the same song, since the first graduation ceremony conducted in See COUNCIL GRADUATION, page 18 ; Memorials Dedicated to Devin Daniels Members of American Legion Post 72 dedicating the gazebo and bench to Sgt. Adams County Commissioner's Meefin v Wilson Road Finally a Go nY LEE BuY Adams County has the funds to apply dust control to the section of Landore Road, which passes through the community of Bear, and to provide dust control on the first half mile of the Cuprum Road, but the Commissioners warned that next year they will not have the money available. Commissioner Mike Paradis recommended that area residents be given the option next year of purchasing their own dust control chemicals and the county will apply them. Several areas of the county are plagued with dusty roads during the summer and the county Road and Bridge Department has had to decline providing dust control due to budget constraints. Oh, and did I mention the driver of the four-wheeler is not allowed to stop to give the passenger more time to take that bite? This scene and many others, equally as hilarious, will be repeated many times on June 9 at the Biker Rodeo at the Fair/ Rodeo Grounds at Council. People can either come and watch, or participate. And you can't beat the price. Admission is only $5, and that five bucks gets you entered into one event as well (if you're so inclined). The entry fee for each additional event is also $5. Admission for kids 10 and under is free. When some people hear it's a "Biker Rodeo;' they think of a bunch of rowdy Hell's Angels. That is NOT what this event is about! It will be a family- oriented good time, with participants on bicycles, horses and four-wheelers (ATVs) in addition to motorcycles--just good clean fun for the whole family. Events will include: The "Slow Race" where the last contestant across the finish line wins. (This is for two- wheeled vehicles. How without putting your feet slow can you go on a bike down?)
