q-he Adams County Record Wednesday, June 20, 2012 Page 3 Obituary Robert Baker June 10, 1931 -- June 10, 2012 Robert Floyd Self Baker was born to Ernest Self and Margaret Pearl Vail on June 10, 1931 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was raised by his mother in various mining communities throughout Nevada before moving to Milford, Utah where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Doris Y. Briscoe. They married and resided in Reno, Nevada where he started an electrical contracting business and introduced the first portable toilets for construction and park sites. He was also very successful and enthusiastic in stock car racing, winning the Reno Championship in 1960. They had three daughters, Judy, Barbara and Margaret, and later adopted Doris' nephew, Mark Briscoe, as their only son. In 1961, they moved to Cambridge, Idaho and "took up cattle ranching, and he continued to ply his trade as an electrician, working on the Hell's Canyon Dam and The Alaskan Pipeline. He is survived by his wife Doris; daughters Judy Van Komen, McCall; Barbara Kightlinger (Alan) Elko, Nevada; Margaret Watson, Twin Falls; and son Mark Briscoe, Council. He had 9 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and one cousin, Donny Harris of Moscow, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Dix, his father and step fathers, B. Baker and Roy L. Dix. He was loved by many. His word was always his bound honor. Services were held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Cambridge Exhibit Hall followed by burial at the Indian Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser. Liddle passed of unknown causes at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jay was born on January 14, 1968 at Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson, Nevada a n d worked for a number of years as a security guard at Nathan Addelson Hospice in Las Vegas. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Delores and Anthony StarnirL and brothers William and Christopher Liddle and Gregory Lee. A Celebration of Life will be held for him at the home of Dee and Tony Starniri on July 7 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Nathan Addelson Hospice in Las Vegas.
