Big Cha ages to Local Republican Party BY ANITA VANGRUNSVEN Most likely your Republican precinct committeeman has changed. Three of them decided to resign. Only Viki Purdy for New Meadows and Anita VanGrunsven for North Council remain of the elected precinct committeemen. A meeting was held on Saturday, May 26 to reorganize so that Adams County would have representation at the Idaho State Republican Convention that will be held in Idaho Falls from June 21 to 23. For our Republican Party officers, Viki agreed to take the Chairman position. She has attended the Republican conventions in years past to represent our county and as Chair she will be able to go again. At the moment itappears that our other three representatives will be Steve Joslin, Robin James, and Shirley Halsey with Shastina Joslin as an alternate. Because the Convention requires a major commitment of time and money to attend, the TEA Party folks got together and had a Bake Sale/ Lemonade Stand on June 13th to earn money to donate to the delegates which will all be used to help defray the expenses of the delegates. Our Republican Party also has a small checking account so we voted to pay the registration fees for the convention. If we can do this again before the next Convention perhaps more folks will be able to consider representing us! Going to the Convention might be fun and a chance to help guide our state Republican Party. Our new Republican Party is planning to meet monthly. I will put announcements in the Record so that you may attend and give input. We plan to have candidate forums between now and the election in November so that our voters can ask questions and influence our Representatives. Stay tuned for more news and chances to participate!
