Page 2 Thursday, July 5, 2012 The Adams County Record Dear Editor, When I go to Council for any errands I look over to the Veterans Memorial Peace Park to see ff any- one is Using it. Sometimes I stop and visit ff some- one is there. The other day, I noticed a large group of motorcyclists having a picnic in the shade. I stopped and visited with them. They were a great Peace Park is a Plus group and informed me the Veterans Memorial Peace Park is becoming better known by trav- elers in the lower valley as a nice shady rest stop. They were also impressed with the memorial and the gazebo that is located there. One lady said she hoped we would get bet- ter restroom facilities. We all hope for this and I told her we are still growing. Last Saturday, there was a huge multi-year class reunion at the Veterans Memorial Peace Park. I took pictures. Our com- munity should be proud to have the Veterans Memorial Peace Park for all the public to use. Thank You Dear Editor, The family of Bob Baker would like to thank all of the wonderful people who came to the services, those who brought all the great food and drinks and all of you great women who came and helped with the food and my kitchen. You didn't have much time to prepare everything, but you all did a great job. t was so overwhelmed by all that was happening I wasn't a very good hostess, so I really appreciated all of the preparations you did for our family. A big thank you also to the many many people who called and the beautiful cards that were sent. I know Bob would have appreciated the outpouring of love and concern you have all given our family. May God bless you all and thanks again for everything. Doris Baker and family. Dear Editor, We attended the multi- year class reunion this weekend and found it to be a wonderful experience. From hard-working volunteers to the excellent band, we thank you for making this reunion a memorable time for all. Several hundred people attended from classes spanning the 1970s to 1990. We had a most appreciated meal and even better time of fellowship and fun. A special thank you for all the people who worked so hard to make this reunion very special. From cooks to clean up, from pre-event planning to break down--ya'll are greatly appreciated. And to all Who donated goods and services--thank you! Especially the baker of the delicious apple pie Clarence won at the silent auction; it was delicious! Our appreciation and thanks to all the people of Council and the Adams County Fairgrounds for making this reunion one we will never forget. The proceeds that were raised were donated to helping with the cost of putting a headstone at Ila's gravesite. Future events will go toward helping families with similar needs.
