Page 10 Wednesday, July 18, 2012 Where is This? The Adams County Record This week's photo is of a place many have seen, but not up close. I thought I'd pick a harder one for this week. The picture is from Bob Davis and was taken in 2010. The prize this week is a dandy little tube of lip balm with all kinds of healthy herbs in it, from D&L Herbs of Council. Get your answers in by 4:00 PM on Monday: of Bear is just out of or sight, and the Snake River 253-6961. Canyon is visible in the Last week's picture was distance. an easy one and we got When those pictures 13 correct answers. One were taken July 14, the photo showed Smith road to Black Lake was Mountain Lookout, and still not open. This past the other was looking weekend the county had the opposite direction graded the road as far as (southwest) down the the lookout and plowed road toward Tripod out the snow in the Saddle. The community shadow of High Dive, but had not worked on the road on north from there. Several impatient folks cut trees out of the road and made it into Black Lake in spite of some remaining snow. The county will be working on the road this week. The name drawn from the 13 correct ones was Jane Gabbert. She wins the raspberry jam from D&L Herbs. It has been suggested that I run last week's photo(s) with the new photo each week so folks wouldn't have to find their last week's issue to look at the photo again. There are two reasons I don't do this. First, we only have so much room, especially for color photos, and when it's two photo at once (like last week), that complicates this problem even more. Also, I figure it kind of motivates people to keep their issue of the Record handy for another week to recheck the photo once they know where it is -- and maybe read something they had overlooked the first time through.
