The Music Festival is trying to start a tradition of yard sales around Council during the festival. If you can hold a yard or garage sale on that weekend, please do; it will help make the weekend more festive and attract visitors. Democrat Picnic Adams County Democrats will hold their annual picnic Saturday, August 18% starting at 11:30 at the Old Adams County Courthouse Park. The menu will be salads and desserts and there will also be a pie/dessert fund raising auction. Congressional candidate ]immie Farris, and state candidates, Steve Worthley, Alma Hasse and Mary Sue Roach will also attend the picnic to meet and listen to the people of Adams County. The public is invited. Come to the picnic, and then go enioy the Council Mountain Music Festival. Benefit golf tournament The Ace Saloon sponsoring a benefit golf tournament, a four person team scramble, at Council Greens this Saturday, August 11, at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee is $25 per person, with proceeds going to the new Council High School shop program. Contestants may even enter the morning of the event at 8:00 a.m. A chicken BBQ will follow the tournament at the Ace Beer Garden. Contestants eat free; others pay $5. We will start at 8:00 AM, putting equipment back into the-building and cleaning up. Trucks and trailers are needed. There will be an open house to show off the renovated August 20, starting at 6:00 PM at the shop building. The new shop teacher, Tyler Renez, and timber donor, Harold Powers, will be there. A presentation will be shown on the new shop "smart board;' showing the background and progress of the project.
