For additional information and Prosecutor positions, contact Jeff Howard at This will be an open forum format, so you can ask the Haunted House The annual haunted house at the old Adams County Courthouse will get underway on October 24. The haunted house will open October 24 - 27 and 29-31. (Closed on Sunday the 28th.) On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays the hours are 7:00 PM to 9:00 Trick or PM. You must be at the door no later than 9:00 PM to go m. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the hours are 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. You must be at the door no later than 11:00 PM to enter. Admission is $3.50. Treat Bus There will be an annual Trick or Treat bus again this year. The bus will depart the grade school parking lot at 6:00 p.m. and return at approximately 8:00 p.m. There will be junior high and high school SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) on the bus to chaperone students. Students will have a safe warm ride. Please sign a permission form, available at the grade school, so we have the number of kids planning to ride the bus. Parents are invited to ride the bus with their children. Pre School children are also invited. Old bed sheets needed Do you have colored bed sheets that are too worn to use any more? The CHS students are making crocheted rugs from sheets and bed skirts. If you have some to donate they can be left at the front office of CHS or call 253-4217 and instructor Fran Ogden or one of the students will pick them up. The Adams County Record No adult sewing class Fran Ogden has announced sewing class at the school on that there will be no adult October 30. Cozy kids The Cozy Kids program will be distributing hats, coats and gloves on Saturday, October 20 from 1:00 "- 3:00 PM ~t 203 Illinois Ave, Suite C. The program is taking donations of pants and boots, which can be dropped off at the Heartland Animal Hospital, to be distributed at a later date. Ranching For Profit Workshop Ranchers will find ways to increase the profitability of their businesses at a Ranching for Profit workshop, beginning with registration at 8:15 a.m. and the program running 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Saturday October 27 at the Adams County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Council. "l-he U of I Adams County Extension is hosting, with Dave Pratt of Ranch Management Consultants conducting the workshop. The cost for participants Vendors who RSVP by October 22, 2012 is $25/person. Win .$150 at the Indian Valley Craft Fair The Indian Valley Craft Fair is always the first Saturday in November. This year it's November 3rd, from 9:00 to 4:00 at the Indian Valley Community Hall, just off Highway 95 in Indian Valley. You'll find handmade soaps and lotions, preserves and potions, stitchery, jewelry, fine art, woodcraft and more. Enjoy homemade lunch featuring pulled pork sandwiches, chili, and salad. And we've bumped up the prize in our annual holiday raffle: You could win a $150 U.S. Bank gift card! If you can't make it to the Craft Fair, get your raffle tickets at U.S. Bank in Council or Kaye York's Gallery in Cambridge. Proceeds benefit the Indian Valley Community Hall. New Meadows Meadows Valley Community Conference What: A planning conference to follow up on the long-term goals of our community plan. When: Friday October 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM (Social from 6:30- 7:00 PM) Saturday morning (9:00 AM - Noon; pot luck breakfast). Where: The Senior Center, New MeadoWs.
