The forum was sponsored by the Adams County Republican Central Committee, and moderated by Jim Mahon in the Adams County Courtroom. Senate The two Republican contenders for the District Senate seat are Viki Purdy and incumbent Abby Lee. The future voters grilled the Mayor on a variety of topics ranging from what the job of Mayor entails, to the toughest question of the day: what his favorite book is! Since they are not meant for the public, they sometimes contain speculation, but this one went far beyond mere speculation. v The document in question attributes most of what is stated in it to the Adams County Sheriff's Office. There was one big problem with that. According to Adams County Sheriff Ryan Zollman, he didn’t even know about the document or the claims in it until it was sent to him. The document, dated over 3 months ago, January County officer Brian Wood, where the “information” who was involved in the fatal shooting of Jack Yantis on November 1, 2015. The document claims Wood had recently become “increasingly unstable," and was separating from his wife after some “domestic violence issues” Part of the document stated, “During a conversation with Adams CSO, Wood advised, 'If cops get involved, shots will be fired.’ Wood’s in—laws currently reside in Meridian and have requested extra patrol due to statements from Wood that they are ‘not safe?" As far as Sheriff Zollman knows, none of these statements came from anyone in the Adams County Sheriff ’5 Office. asked about originated, Ada County Sheriff Office personnel said someone claiming to speak for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office had given it to them. They had not called the Adams County Sheriff to confirm the information. Somehow, word got around that Wood had been missing for two days. This was not in the Officer Safety Extra Patrol bulletin. Zollman said he had spoken to Wood at the Sheriff’s Office the day before and the day after the bulletin was issued. Wood had said his was going through a rough patch, but gave no indication that anything serious was occurring. On his Facebook page, Wood posted, “The man who fabricated the information in the law enforcement bulletin lost his job a couple weeks later, and the man who published the bulletin to the Internet was arrested by the FBI the very same day, and is facing 10 years in prison.” KIVI TV, Channel 6, is continuing to investigate this issue.
