In an announcement this
week Mr. Mort Curtis,
Superintendent of the
Council Schools had the
following to say concerning
the dress code and a tenta-
tive attendence policy for
the Council Schools:
C Dress Code
We take pride in the
appearance of our students.
Your dress reflects the qual-
ity of the school, of your
conduct and your school
work. All students are
expected to dress and
groom themselves neatly in
clothes that are suitable for
school activities. However,

which the parents requested
and those validated by the
teacher, clerk, or adminis-
trative person.
b. Unexcused: Those
tardies which have not been
validated by the parents, or
those not validated by a
teacher, clerk, or adminis-
trative person.
After three unexcused
tardies, the parents of the
student will be contacted.
At the end of each quarter
(when report cards are
issued) any student having
more than four unexcused
tardies in any one class will
be requested to appear
before the school board
with his or her parents.
II. Absences: Parents
must contact the school to
excuse any student from
school. If the school is not
contacted, in case of
absence, the student will be
considered truant. Either

State Laws, students who
do not attend school at
least 85% of the semester
will not receive credit that
semester, unless permission
is granted by the Board of
Trustees.
Smoking
Students are not permit-
'ted to smoke in the school
building, on or near the
school campus, or on the
school buses. Students
found smoking are subject
to suspension from school.

bility to make arrangements
for work to be made up.
Parents are to contact the
school in advance to request
absences and a call or signed

student returns to school.
Excused absences for school
activities need a signed note
from the parents the day
before the activity, that
includes the date, where the
student is going, and the
means of transportation.

the parent has no know-
