Silver & Gold by Shirley W'flson
Oh deer!
Well what's new in your
world this week? By the
time this gets in thepaper
our bus will have made the
trip to Ontario. I thought
they were going on the
10% but they changed it
to the 3rd, which is this
Thursday. I guess no one
could go on the 10th.
We will be having Bingo
on the 4th of November at
7:00 PM.
Some of us got our
hearing tested last Friday,
and I was told I need
hearing aids. But I'm not
doing that at this time. I
don't know if anyone
bought hearing aids
Or not. I know we had
several people come and
be tested.
I'm hearing some of you
have been deer hunting
and getting one. Good
luck, but I couldn't shot
those cute things myself.
But then I am not from
a hunting country, until
Ray and I moved here. So
I will buy my meat at the
market.
I can't think of anything
going on that I can report
to you, so will make this
short. Until next week.
Have a good week!

Obituary
Marva Owens Moats
July 24, 1922 - October
21, 2016
Mom was born on July
24,1922 to Joseph Alma
Owens and Alice Elvaretta
Harris at her grandparents
home just west of Eagle, ID.
She attended school in Glenns
Ferry, ID, where she was very
involved in music.
She married William
Abraham Moats, her high
school sweetheart, on April
4, 1942 in Jasper, FL after
traveling alone across the
country by train during
World War n. ]hey returned
to Glenns Ferry after the
war, where they owned
and operated Moats Auto
Company together for many
years.
q-hey raised their family
there. When Dad took a Civil
Service job, they left Glenns
Ferry and lived in New
Mexico, Colorado and Alaska
Oust to name a few places). As
Mom would say "We moved
from Valdosta, GA to Beth&
AK, and a half-dozen places in
between." When they retired,
they settled in New Meadows,
ID. She moved to an assisted
living complex-in Meridian,
ID several years after Dad's
passing, closer to more family.
She had her mother's
indomitable spirit and
personal power; her heart and
velvet touch, combined with
a back-bone of titanium steel
She was artistic in so many
ways - music, painting, floral
arrangement, cake decorating,
seamstress extraordinaire, and
raising a family. She was the
ultimate Morn, Grandma,
Nana & GG. Loving, strong,
giving, kind and intuitive; with
just enough humor and SASS
to make life really interesting.
She laughed and sang right up
to her last day.
She was so easy to love.

children: Marsha Ann Shriver

promote all the festivals and
scenic wonders of the area.
Lincoln said that most
Idaho tourists do not have
any idea about the reasons
for visiting our area, and a
Visitor's Guidebook would
fall in the gaps to promote
stopping by in Weiser,
Midvale, Cambridge, Council,
and New Meadows.
The guide would feature
local events and scenic
locations along the route
and would be distributed at
all Idaho Visitor Welcome
Centers and at local
businesses. The Council
Chamber was very interested
in the idea and encouraged
Lincoln to provide a budget
for what the guide will cost to
produce and print.
To be available during the
next travel season, the guide
will need to be completed by
March 1, 2017.
