Sports season
changeover
Lots of exciting things
are happening at Council
High School, and I am
not talking about all of
the ghosts and goblins
running around this
week. This week wrapped
up another sport for the
year, with Miles Stanford
traveling to Pocatello
to compete in the State
Championship meet. The
weather was beautiful, but
days of raining left the
course soggy which added
time to Miles' and other
runners' times. Miles
finished in the middle of
the pack, and completed
his Freshman season with
a new State sweatshirt.
Great job Miles!
The football boys
played the Garden Valley
Wolverines on Friday. This
game determined whose
season ended and which
team would advance to the
playoffs. Council defeated
the Wolverines 30-0 and
advance on to a playoff
game against the Kendrick
Tigers this Saturday, Nov.
5th. The game kicks off
at 4:30 Mountain Time
in the Kibble Dome at
University of Idaho. If
you can't make it to the
game, you can still cheer
on the Lumberjacks by
logging on to idahosports.

Lumberjacks!
The Council Ladyjacks
started basketball
practice this Monday.
The basketball schedule
is online at csd13.org/
athletics and sports
calendars will be
appearing in local
business windows soon. If
you would like a winter
sports calendar, stop by
the high school to pick
one up.
Once the basketball
season gets rolling,
Lumberjack fans will
see some changes in
the gymnasium. This
past weekend was spent
putting up brand new
scoreboards! Many thanks
to Justin Getusky, Sam
Wagner, and Jeremy Hall
for their help - it wouldn't
have gotten done without
you! Once again, thank
you to Starkey's Water,
Shy Simon's Pizza, and
Jerry's Auto Parts whose
generous donations made
possible the purchase of
these scoreboards.
The Council Athletic
Committee was also busy
this weekend, hanging up
sponsorship banners in
the gymnasium. 21aank
you to all of the sponsors
for their generous
donations. The high
school shop classes have
also been busy making
alterations to the gym
as well. So again, lots of
exciting changes coming
as we transition into
the basketball season!
Be sure to cheer on the

See you at the games.
