garner's hunting dog, left
with Jerry Hughs, Cort
Conley and Kathy Jones on a
float trip on the Lower Main
mon, Wednesday morn-
ing.
The party entered the
water at Rice Creek and
floated down past Cougar,
Snohole and Blue Canyons,
to the confluence of the
Snake and Grand Ronde
Rivers.
Judging from a report
given, they must have had a
grand time. The report went
like this: They took along the
fishermen's best lure, for
steelhead fishing, and the
dog to retrieve the birds. All
would have gone well had
there been more co-opera-
tion from the game popula-
tion. No amount of persua-
sion on the part of the expert
fishermen brought results
from the steel heads. They
did manage to get a few
trout. The dog didn't get
much exercise either. Since
the party was out several
nights, some grand perfor-
