IME 1- ISSUE 24 - THE COUNCIL RECORD - Wednesday, December 7, 1977
PAGE 1 -
At a meeting of Council
Chamber of Commerce held
at the Lumberjack Restau-
rant Dec 5 it was reported
that the fund to install the
translator for T.V. Channel
6 is still $305.00 short of
what is needed to complete
the project.
It was decided that a
further appeal should be
made for contributions to
make a further contribu-
tion although they had
already done so.
The consensus of opinion
was that if Council Valley
residents realized that the
goal was so nearly within
reach they would make a
contribution to enable the
completion of the project.
Those wishing to make
the fund and several of their contribution may do
those attending stated that
they would be willing to
so at Idaho First Bank or
at The Record of c e.

The Sheriff's Office con-
tinues to receive complaints
from local residents regard-
ing hunters using spotlights
presumably for predatory
animals and trespassing on
private lands. Currently an
investigation is underway in
which a valuable ranch cat
was killed in the driveway of
the owners' home on Hornet
Creek. The shot was fired
from the County road toward
the residence on the pro-
perty and the remair, s of the
cat were carried away by the
spotlighters.
Idaho Code 36-1508 (a)
forbids shooting from any
Public road. Idaho Code
36-1602 makes it illegal to
hunt on inclosed lands of
another without permission.
Local ranchers are con-
cerned about hunters shoot-
ing into their fields where
their cattle are on feed
yards, and in the incident on
Hornet Creek, cattle in an
adjoining field were stam-
peded. When hunting pre-
dators with spotlights, it
would be safer and appre-
ciated by livestock owners
for the spotlighters to hunt in
areas away from residences
and livestock on f e e d
yards.
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER? - Pictured above is the first Court House of Adams County together with county officials who were serving the
